Steps to Transfer Car Ownership in UAE

These are the steps required to transfer my wife's car from Abu Dhabi to me in Dubai. Step 1 to 6 not required if the owner is still in the country.
1. Prepare Power of Attorney letter through a law firm in M'sia (~RM100)
2. Attest the POA by a public notary in M'sia (~RM100)
3. Attest the POA by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in M'sia (~RM10)
4. Attest the POA by UAE embassy in M'sia (~RM150)
5. Attest the POA by Ministry of Foreign Affairs in UAE (~AED150)
6. Translate the POA to Arabic language by legal translation agency (~AED120)
7. Send the car for inspection in Abu Dhabi Traffic Department (~AED120)
8. Remove the Abu Dhabi's plate number
9. Purchase a 3-days car insurance (~AED150)
10. Submit the translated POA, vehicle test certificate, old plate number and insurance to obtain the vehicle transfer letter (~AED430)
11. Purchase Abu Dhabi’s “Export” plate number and fix it on the car (~AED60)
12. Send the car for inspection in Dubai Traffic Department (~AED50)
13. Remove the "Export" plate number
14. Purchase a 1-year car insurance (~AED690 for 3rd party insurance)
15. Go to “Typing” counter to type the form (~AED15)
16. Submit the vehicle transfers letter, vehicle test certificate, old plate number and insurance for car transfer (~AED490)
17. Obtain the new car registration card
18. Purchase Dubai plate number and fix it on the car (~AED10)
19. Purchase a new Salik tag (~AED100)

Total Expenses is approx. AED 2745**
** Assumption: AED = RM in value
